I used to think
I needed to feel motivated before I could begin. Then I realized it usually works the other way around. You take the first step. Then the second. And somewhere along the way, motivation quietly catches up. Waiting to feel inspired can keep us standing still for a very long time. Write one paragraph. Brush to canvas. Go for a ten-minute walk. Make the phone call. Small actions have a way of creating momentum. You don’t need to see the whole path. You only need to take the next step. Because motivation isn’t usually what gets us moving. It’s the reward for having moved in the first place.
