As you probably know, watching the news can sometimes be a stressful experience. It's easy to get caught up in all the bad stuff happening in the world and feel emotionally drained after watching it.
However, there is a way to minimize your news intake and still be informed enough to participate in your community or make a difference: watch less, read more. The news is not always telling the truth, and they can often sensationalize stories or omit important details that would change your entire perspective on what's happening. So if you're going to watch the news, make sure that you're doing it with a critical eye. If you can't stop watching it altogether, try reading an article about the same story from multiple sources before making up your mind about what's really going on. If no one else has reported on this story yet and everyone seems to be jumping on board without any objective evidence for their claims, then maybe there isn't enough proof for us to believe it either.
