Grief can be a doorway to new life.
When you are in the midst of grief, you may feel like you're trapped inside a dark tunnel with no way out. You may feel like your heart is being squeezed by a giant fist and that your mind has been shut down. It's hard to imagine that anything good could come out of this time—but something will. Grief isn't just a doorway; it's also an opportunity for transformation. When we go through deep grief, we often emerge on the other side with our hearts open in ways they have never been before. We see life differently than we did before, and we begin to understand things about ourselves that we didn't know. We become more compassionate because we've had to learn how to be kinder to ourselves and others during our journey through grief. And when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough to let real feelings flow in us (instead of pushing them away), then amazing things can happen! Our hearts start opening up more and more each day until, eventually, nothing is holding them back anymore—and then new life begins pouring out from us into the world!
