Honesty and telling the truth are not the same thing.
Honesty is about admitting your flaws and shortcomings. It's about seeing where you've made mistakes or fallen short and recognising that it's OK to do so. Honesty is the ability to be self-aware of your feelings, what's going on with you, and why. Telling the truth is different because it involves communicating with others in a way that doesn't hide anything. It means saying things in a straightforward manner without sugarcoating or downplaying them. Telling the truth is not a sales pitch, you don’t have to convince or manipulate others. It means choosing words carefully so they accurately convey exactly what you want to say without misleading or misdirecting anyone else who might be listening—or reading!
