Personal leadership is the act of maintaining your vision and goals in front of you while aligning your life with them.
The most important part of personal leadership is that it's not a one-time thing; it's an ongoing process. It's about being aware of what's going on in your life, knowing where you want to go next, and adjusting accordingly. You have to keep your vision and values before you so they can guide you through the changes you'll inevitably go through as time goes on. It's also important to remember that personal leadership isn't just about making decisions—it's also about taking action. If your vision and values are guiding your life, then action will follow naturally from that. You must be willing to take risks to achieve those goals. When you make decisions and take action that are aligned with your vision and values, you develop a strong sense of confidence. You know what you want, and you're in touch with how much work it takes to achieve it. You can see the progress you've made toward your goals, and that makes it easier to keep going. Your confidence comes from knowing that no matter what happens, you'll always have something to fall back on—your own set of personal norms.
